Metric Solutions Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice (the “Privacy Notice” or “Notice”) summarizes the various ways that Metric Employee Benefits CRM & Benchmarking Corp. (“we”, “Metric”, “Metric CRM”, “Metric HRS” or “our”) treats the Information (as defined below) you provide while using www.metricsolutions.ca or any other affiliated Metric website (collectively, the “Website”). It is our goal to bring you information that is tailored to your individual needs and, at the same time, to protect your privacy.

 

Please read this Notice carefully. You can access the Privacy Notice any time on the Website. The date of the most recent revisions will appear on this page, so check back often, as we do not undertake any obligation to update you on the changes. In addition to reviewing this Privacy Notice, please read our Terms of Service Agreement.

 

Your registration on, or continued use of, any aspect of the website will constitute your agreement to this privacy notice, as amended from time to time. For greater certainty, your continued access of the website will constitute your acceptance of any changes or revisions to the privacy notice. This Privacy Notice does not cover Information collected elsewhere, including, without limitation, offline and on sites linked to from the Website.

The Type of Information We Collect

We collect identifiable personal information from all individuals and organizations that sign up with Metric and/or any related mailing lists.

 

Our servers may automatically collect information about your computer when you visit the Website, including, without limitation, the type of browser software you use, the operating system you are running, the website that referred you, and your Internet Protocol (“IP”) address. Your IP address is usually associated with the place from which you enter the Internet, such as your internet service provider, your company, or your university. www.metricsolutions.ca. Metric may collect information about you and/or your organization from other sources, such as newspapers, blogs, instant messaging services, and other users of our services through the operation of those services.

How we use Information Provided by You

We use your user name, email, and password to grant you access to and use of the Website. When you select ‘Forgot Password’ on the Website, we will use your e-mail address to send you a copy of your user name and a link to change your password. We will also use your email to send notifications and messages generated through the use of the application. These can be cancelled by contacting Metric. If you provide personal information, it will be used to provide you with the service you have requested. We may also use the information to communicate with you about new features, products or services, and/or to improve the services that we offer by tailoring them to your needs.

In certain cases, we will share information about and from users with other users; thisinformation will not include your name or any identifiable features.

We may share your Information with third parties, such as integrations, that provide us with services, but only for the purpose of and to the extent we consider necessary to provide those services. While we will seek to require such third parties to follow appropriate privacy policies in accordance with Canadian Federal and Provincial laws and will not authorize them to use your personal Information except for the express purpose for which it is provided, we will not bear any responsibility for any actions of third parties, including, without limitation, the use of your personal Information.

We may provide governmental, regulatory, or law enforcement authorities access to your Information in order to cooperate with official investigations or legal proceedings, including, for example, in response to subpoenas, search warrants, court orders or other legal processes.

We reserve the right to use the Information we collect, which may, at times, be able to identify you, for any lawful business purpose, including, without limitation, to help diagnose problems with our servers, to gather broad demographic information, and to otherwise improve or administer our Website

Data Storage Retention

Your personal data will not be kept for longer than is necessary to fulfill the specific purposes outlined in this Notice, and allow us to comply with our legal requirements.

Third Party Privacy

If you use any third party integrations with Metric, you agree to their respective privacy policies, whether known or unknown. If you choose to use Metric’s Google and/or Microsoft integration functions, we will use your email address to directly verify the ownership of your registered email address.

Cookies

We use cookies to track usage patterns on the Website, to deliver editorial content, and to record registration and personalization Information. For example, if you register on any part of the Website and are given the option to save your username and password on your computer, we can provide this convenience to you by placing a cookie on your computer. Our cookies may contain personally identifiable information and such cookies may be shared with our affiliates and other companies.

If you don’t want any cookies, your Web browser may include an option that allows you to not accept them. However, if you set your browser to refuse cookies, the Website may not function properly.

Information Security and Notification

  • Alberta: Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA)

  • British Columbia: Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA)

  • Québec: An Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (including amendments in Bill 64)

When considering your rights, it is important to remember that provincial laws are considered "substantially similar" to PIPEDA, which means they take precedence over the federal law within those provinces for private-sector organizations like Metric.
